Paje used to be a dream place to be. Long, white, empty beach. Only local residents with their daily activities working in and with the sea.Every now and than some tourists , some with children .A very realaxed atmosphere. It has been like that for many years[ my first visit in 1988] BUT NOW.. It is transformed in a horror. kiteschools literaly occupies the beach; three of them! They do not respect the rules, the boeis that indicate a swim and play area or the local fishermen and seaweed women. If one has reasonable comments they are very unpleasant. especialy the kiteschool under dutch managment.
Kids are afraid to go in the sea. It is very dangerous indeed.Local people told me that accidents do happen. They dont like the Kiters [to put it mildly]
So, if you intend to go to Paje with children; avoid the place !If you love Kitesurfing; go there . for you it will be great.
Compromise; separate the two areas for kiters and others , respect the regulations.
But I will never go back
