The drive up to the hotel is via a very pot-holed road. The building is lovely and very old and full of character.
But my room was very dark and smelled. I could not open the window as there was a note to say that magpies were going into rooms and stealing shiny items.
The evening meal was very good.
The service in both the restaurant and reception was very distant, polite but not friendly.
Small signs of neglect, eg light bulb not working.
Overall Ok, but apart from the historical interest I would not recommend for an extended stay.
